How to Add Lyrics to Reels: A Step-by-Step Guide

With the rise in popularity of short-form video content, platforms like Instagram have introduced features such as Reels to allow users to create and share engaging videos. Adding music to Reels has always been a fun way to enhance your content, but have you ever wondered how to add lyrics to your favorite songs? In this article, we’ll walk you through a step-by-step guide on how to add lyrics to Reels and make your videos stand out from the crowd.

Step 1: Selecting the Right Song
To begin adding lyrics to your Reels, you first need to choose a song that has lyric support. Not all songs on Instagram’s music library have synced lyrics available, so it’s important to find one that does. You can easily check if a song has lyrics by searching for it using the “Music” feature in the Reels creation tool. Look for a musical note icon with “Lyrics” displayed beneath it.

Step 2: Starting Your Reel
Once you’ve found a suitable song with synced lyrics, open the Instagram app and tap on the camera icon at the top-left corner of your home screen. Slide across the bottom menu options until you find “Reels” and tap on it. Now, you’re ready to start recording your video.

Step 3: Adding Music with Lyrics
In the Reels creation screen, locate and tap on the “Music” icon at the bottom-left corner of your screen. This will open up Instagram’s music library. Type in the name of the song you selected earlier into the search bar or browse through popular tracks until you find it.

When you’ve found your chosen track, select it and look for an option called “Lyrics.” Tap on this option, and if available, a new interface will appear displaying synchronized lyrics corresponding with different sections of the song.

Step 4: Choosing the Perfect Lyric Segment
Once the lyrics are displayed, you can scroll through them and choose the exact segment you want to appear in your Reel video. You can select a specific verse or chorus by dragging the lyric bar left or right. As you move the bar, the corresponding part of the song will play, allowing you to preview how it syncs with your video.

Step 5: Recording and Editing Your Video
After finalizing the segment you wish to use, tap and hold on the record button to start recording your video while enjoying the selected music with lyrics. Instagram provides various creative options like filters, effects, and timer settings that you can experiment with to enhance your Reel further.

Step 6: Sharing Your Reel
Once you’ve recorded and edited your video, it’s time to share it with your followers. Simply tap on next at the bottom-right corner of your screen. Here, you can add captions, hashtags, and tag relevant accounts just like any other Instagram post. When ready, hit “Share”!
